How to shape the perfect brows with Brow Radiance

There are many ways to shape a brow, and many tools to make it happen. Our key tips will see you designing brows on fleek every time.

Does your client pluck their eyebrows at home? It’s time to tell them to put the tweezers down. There is an art to shaping eyebrows and tweezers just don’t cut it. As you would already know, waxing and threading are much more beneficial shaping techniques. If done right, it can bring out the most adored features of one’s face.

Each face shape is unique. With different facial features that enhance your beauty. Eyebrows are a prominent factor that can transform a look in its entirety and remain an intricate part of style. They have quite literally been a beauty trend for years on end. From thick to thin, from straight to arch. They have been a defining moment in fashion.

Likewise, they will always remain a defining moment for beauty. There are simple steps you can follow in your salons to ensure you clients are able to experience the bold statement their eyebrows can make.

Here are 5 simple steps to ensure your clients leave your salon with brows that are worth coming back for.

1 – Prepare the eyebrows.

Brushing out your client’s eyebrows is an essential first step that shouldn’t be glazed over. A product like Barneys Lash and Brow Comb makes for a great tool with a dual end. The sturdy bristles on one end paired with the comb on the other make a great combination for precision. Gently use the bristled end to brush over your client’s eyebrows so that all their hairs are laid out in the same direction.

2 – Find a desired brow shape.

There is no one size fits all when it comes to eyebrows. There are different shapes, sizes and angles. Following the bone structure of your client is a good starting point. However, it is quite beneficial to consider how different eyebrows shapes enhance different face shapes. Let’s explore a few common brow shapes:

Round: A high arch with a small angle creates definition.

S-Shaped: Soft, rounded eyebrows with a low arch is ideal. This maintains a natural look.

Upward: A slight curve in the eyebrows with a soft, high arch is beyond flattering.

3 – Shape the arch

Once you have analysed what eyebrow shape is ideal for your client it’s time to map it all out. As a generic guide there are three main points to consider of a client’s eyebrows.

1- The inner edge of the eyebrow should be in alignment with the client’s nostril. Straight down the slope of the nose.

2 – The highest part of a brow bone should be where the arch is and should directly align with the outer corner of the eyeball.

3 – The third point of the eyebrow is the tail. If you were to hold a pencil diagonally from the side of end of their eyebrow to their nostril it should align.

Let’s be real though, it’s rather time consuming to be rotating pencils across your client’s forehead. Instead make use of a brow mapping ruler. It’s a flexible, sleek ruler. The secret to precision with ease. All you need to do, is lay it above and across your client’s forehead and then mark the lines you want to work with in a white brow mapping pencil. The white pencil is gentle on the skin and quite easy to remove, which is a great time saver.

The use of a mapping ruler is so understated. It considers individual face shape and ensures the fabulous arch your client desires.

4 – Wax the eyebrows with Brow Radiance

It’s finally time to remove the unwanted hairs and reveal the flawless shape. Using our specially designed precision applicators allowing you comfort and control any way you like. Use with Barneys Brow Radiance Wax.

It is an exceptionally easy application process. It applies like a strip wax, and once hardened is ready to peel off. Pairing the hot wax with the wooden precision applicators.

5 – Fill them in

This is an optional step, depending on whether your client would like a deeper colour on their eyebrows or just a fuller look. Have some fun with an eyebrow pencil to further define the sculpted shape. Or even offer an add-on tint service with our fave brand Refectocil.
